KIT FAQ'S

Let's get down to the nitty-gritty of emergency preparedness.

Can I purchase this kit with NDIS or Aged Care (HCP/CHSP) funding?

Our Disability & Aged Care Emergency Kits are designed to align with NDIS plans and are eligible for purchase under Aged Care Home Care Packages (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funding.

As this emergency kit includes recognised medical aids and disability-specific emergency resources (such as communication cards, braille pill organisers, sensory regulation earmuffs, and easy read emergency plans), it can be claimed under the following:

NDIS

  • Consumables – Assistive Products for Personal Care & Safety (low to mid cost AT)

Aged Care (HCP & CHSP)

  • Goods, equipment and assistive technology (GEAT) funding that covers personal safety, communication, medication management and independence supports.

If you or someone you care for is funded under NDIS, HCP, or CHSP, these kits can usually be claimed as part of your support plan. Speak with your plan manager, provider, or case worker about purchasing your kit using your funding, or simply complete the funding information in your cart before to include all required details on your invoice for Self-Managed plans.

Is this kit a GST-free medical aid or appliance?

Our Disability & Aged Care Emergency Kits are classified as composite supplies of GST-free medical aids and appliances under Schedule 3 of the GST Act 1999.

Every kit includes:

  • Communication cards – listed in Schedule 3 as GST-free aids for people with disabilities.
  • Braille pill organiser – listed in Schedule 3.
  • Disability-specific emergency plan (easy read), emergency contacts, and preparedness checklist, tailored for people with additional needs.

The Complete Care Kit and Easy Evac Care Kit also include sensory regulation earmuffs (aids for sensory needs).

Because the dominant purpose of these kits is to provide GST-free disability supports, all other included emergency items are considered ancillary. As a result, the entire kit is GST-free.

When's the best time to get an emergency kit?

Yesterday! Organising your supplies in the face of an emergency is not only stressful, but can often be impossible due to panic-buying, supply shortages, or simply not knowing what products you need or where to find them.

The old saying goes: 'failure to be prepared is being prepared to fail'. Well, failure is not an option in an emergency. There are no do-overs and your life may truly depend on your ability to prepare.

EMERGENCY KIT STORAGE TIPS
  • Store your kit in a place that’s easy to reach, even in a blackout.
  • Everyone should know where it is at all times, and be able to grab it quickly and safely.
  • Replace anything expired, used, or weather-damaged.
How is the Easy Evac Care Kit different from the Complete Care Kit?

It includes everything in the Complete Care Kit, plus a 30L Waterproof Backpack and compartmentalised carry bags for your Health & Safety supplies and tools, making it ideal for fast and organised evacuations.
