HOW TO COOK THE READY-TO-EAT MEALS

Boiled water method:

  1. Boil some water in a pot
  2. Throw the unopened meal pouch in the water
  3. Wait three minutes, then serve.

It’s that easy!

Flameless Heater Bag method:

  1. Open the Flameless Heater Bag. Remove the white heating element from its plastic wrapper.
  2. Place your On Track Meal (MRE pouch) inside the heater bag.
  3. Add 50ml of water.
  4. Seal the zip lock.
  5. Wait 7–10 minutes… then dig in!

(Don’t put the pouch in the microwave).

How long does the bucket last?

This emergency food kit includes 22 ready-to-eat meals (MREs), plus snacks, hydration and coffee to keep up to 4 people fed and hydrated for at least 72 hours (3 days), or 1–2 people for 5 days.
Are these meals pre-cooked?

Yes, all On Track meals are fully cooked and ready to eat. You can enjoy them straight from the pouch or heat them for a warm meal.
Are these meals freeze-dried or dehydrated?

No, these ready-to-eat meals are real, slow-cooked meals that retain their natural flavours and textures. There is no need for added water before consuming.
What else do I need to pack?

This bucket only includes food & hydration items, so you'll definitely be wanting to include emergency survival supplies like a radio, torches, backup power shelter, ponchos and health & safety items.

How do the meals remain shelf-stable for 3 years?

On Track meals are packed using retort technology. A retort pouch keeps food shelf-stable by using high heat (115–130°C) to sterilise the contents, sealing out air and contaminants, and using multi-layer materials to prevent spoilage without preservatives.
